As a tea both chamomile and lavender are mild sedatives, that help calm nerves and reduce anxiety though more research needs to be done to show how lavender effects anxiety positively.

Chamomile has been used to treat nightmares, insomnia and other sleep issues and is showing some promising results in the fight against cancer in some studies.

Lavender is often used in aromatherapy as it’s scent is very soothing. Chamomile is anti-microbal and is also used to help soothe inflammation in the throat and a runny nose due to a cold.
